"Behold the King was born this day, The Savior of all the earth". Join us as we celebrate the birth of Sweet Little Jesus Boy. We are so thankful for all of you who are in our lives and count you as one of our many blessings.
Nick commented that he has heard "Merry Christmas" more this year, We try to say it as often as we can when we are out and it's surprising how people respond with Merry Christmas to you....
On Saturday night we were with many special friends here in Santa Paula and then on Sunday we had a family gathering with over 30 members of our extended family, It was very sweet.
We are looking forward to a beautiful service at our church Christmas Eve to celebrate the true meaning of this season, Then more good times with family and dear friends the 25th,26th and 27th.
Whew, what a great week...

Oh hear the children sing
How sweet.... Tonight I went to the Kindergarten Christmas Program. The kids walked into a packed house. First they used wooden instruments and performed The shoemakers waltz. Steve's class sang Up on the Housetop and the finale was We wish you a Merry Christmas. With christmas lights, santa hats and a winter wonderland mural everything was perfect. Mr. Colvard's class was my favorite. Imagine all of the pictures, movies and memories that were made tonight, The parent's and grandparents were so proud of their children. I'm so glad I went.

We love Christmas
Since our first Christmas together (1980) we have loved the Christmas Season. Our first tree was decorated with red gingham bows and cornhusks dolls, since then we have collected Christmas ornaments. This year we decorated 4 trees. Over Thanksgiving weekend, Nick and Steve put the lights on the house, it's a family tradition.... We can't wait until it gets dark so we can plug in the lights and go outside and look at them twinkle.
Today at our church service the celebration team put on a beautiful production of one of the magi telling the story of following the star to visit the Christ child to his grandson. It was so touching . The Choir sang and we were reminded of the true meaning of this our favorite season, Christ.
The weather is cool and we enjoyed wearing sweaters and jackets today. This week is Steve's Kinder's Christmas program, I 'm sure it will be so cute. Thanks for visiting, leave us a note if you have a minute.

Let the blogging begin
Hello on a cold Saturday night. It's close to 7:00 pm and it's already 44 degrees. We're expecting 3 days of rain and cold weather.Yeah!!!! Today was another fun day at the Yard Sale, We loaded Papa and Nana's yard with 'one man's(family) junk..., We sold lots of stuff that has been in our closets and garage, at the end of the sale we invited several of Papa and Nana's tenants to come and pick what they liked FREE, it was a feel good moment.
Last night we had a Christmas dinner for the staff and spouses at Blanchard School, it was a nice way to start the Christmas Season.
We're looking forward to Sunday, the 21st when the Colvard-Starr families will gather here for what we hope becomes an annual tradition, We will celebrate what would have been Pa's"Loyd Colvard'" 100th Birthday.
We're so excited about our new blogging spot(Thanks Ashley),please visit often and leave us a note....
